Los Islenos Fiesta in St. Bernard Parish Louisiana

Los Islenos Fiesta

Saturday, March 2, 2024 to Sunday, March 3, 2024

The Los Islenos Fiesta event will run from 11am-10pm on March 2nd and from 11am-9pm on March 3rd at the Los Islenos Museum Complex.

St. Bernard's Spanish roots date back to the 1700's when Canary Islanders came to the area and settled.  The traditions, food, music, and dance of the people are celebrated yearly at Los Islenos Fiesta held on the grounds of Los Islenos Museum & Village.  The historic Isleño Village, situated in the rear of the Isleño Museum, is the setting for a series of living history demonstrations featuring folk crafts, historic vernacular life styles and the cultural identity of the Isleño descendant’s community in St. Bernard Parish. Representatives of the Houma Nation also interpert the history, culture and folk traditions of the Houma Tribe.

Well known musicians and dancers come from the Canary Islands to entertain at the Fiesta.  Other entertainment includes popular local New Orleans bands.  Amusement rides are available for children.  Delicious Spanish food and drink is available for purchase as well as po-boys, seafood, and gumbo.
There is shuttle service to the Fiesta with parking available at the Gauthier Elementry School on the Judge Perez Extension.  There is no parking on the Museum grounds.  Admission is $5 for anyone 12 years and older.
