The Los Islenos Fiesta event will run from 11am-10pm on March 15th and from 11am-9pm on March 16th at the Los Islenos Museum Complex.
St. Bernard's Spanish roots date back to the 1700's when Canary Islanders came to the area and settled. The traditions, food, music, and dance of the people are celebrated yearly at Los Islenos Fiesta held on the grounds of Los Islenos Museum & Village. The historic Isleño Village, situated in the rear of the Isleño Museum, is the setting for a series of living history demonstrations featuring folk crafts, historic vernacular life styles and the cultural identity of the Isleño descendant’s community in St. Bernard Parish. Representatives of the Houma Nation also interpert the history, culture and folk traditions of the Houma Tribe.
